About

The person who automates the spreadsheet, then goes looking for the next spreadsheet.

I am a Staff Accountant at Ortho Molecular Products, a $200M multi-entity manufacturer, where I own month-end deliverables across two legal entities on a five-day close. That is the day job, and I do it properly: journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, sales tax, the books of a subsidiary brand.

The other half of the role is why I am here. I came in with a Computer Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and the VP of Accounting selected me to lead the team's automation initiatives. Since then I have shipped three production systems, including an OpenAI-backed transaction classifier that cut a 36-hour monthly review to ten minutes, fixed a Fast Close report at the SQL level after months of bad data, and been pulled across the org to write the specification layer for a company-wide platform consolidation.

The pattern in all of it: I sit at the seam between the people who understand the finance and the people who build the systems, and I am comfortable on both sides of it. I sit for the CPA exams in December 2026. Off the clock I build and ship products, and I am learning quantum computing in Qiskit, honestly framed as study, not expertise.

  1. State the assumptions behind a number.A figure without its inputs is a claim, not a result. Retention periods, noise models, and the baseline a result was measured against go next to the number, not in a footnote.
  2. Show honest losses. When the classical baseline wins, that result gets published too. My quantum forecaster lost to linear regression, and it stays on the site.
  3. Never let "quantum" or "AI" do work it has not earned. The word has to be backed by a benchmark against the method people use today. If the benchmark is missing, the word comes out.
